Welcome to the About Us Page!

I developed Serenity In Solutions to provide the community comprehensive substance abuse and mental health services.

My goal is to help you to lead an active life with your family, in your workplace, and in the community. There is no 'one size fits all treatment model. Everyone is different, so my job as your therapist is to find the right approach that will best help and/or your families needs.

I believe that most people come across stuck points in their lives. Sometimes we can move through these fairly well, other times we need some help. Therapy allows you to continue to live your life, while also working on healing and release yourself from those stuck points.

For those of us in recovery from substance abuse and/or mental illness, I believe in a recovery maintenance approach, which is a managed care style akin to a doctor monitoring high blood pressure. Recovery from substance abuse and mental illness requires varying degrees of intensity of services, as well as needs being sufficiently met in all areas of your life.

Therapies vary in focus and may involve:

  • motivating change;

  • developing & utilizing coping skills;

  • reintegrating into the community;

  • discovering & utilizing self-renewing and rewarding activities;

  • improving problem-solving skills; and

  • building better personal relationships. '

Serenity In Solutions uses State & Profession approved screening and assessment instruments to identify needs and strengths. The information gathered is used to develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs. In addition to drug abuse treatment, a you may require other medical services, family therapy, parenting support, job training, and social and legal services. For services that I do not provide, I will link you to appropriate providers in the location closest to you.

Co-Occurring means having substance use & mental health problems. Drug use can cause symptoms of mental illness or make mental health symptoms worse. Mental illnesses can also lead to drug abuse because alcohol and/or drugs may be used as a form of self-medication. Often the connection between substance abuse and emotions is a focal point in therapy.

Have you tried to get counseling before and it didn't work or have your behaviors caused you significant legal, family, or social service problems but you can't seem to get it under control? Don't give up hope on yourself, give Serenity In Solutions a call. I will help you get the services you need!

Serenity In Solutions is devoted to you and your success!

I will work to identify your substance abuse/mental health treatment needs, family and social treatment needs, employment and education needs. I will work as your Advocate to other agencies such as the Criminal Justice System and DHS. I will make referrals to physicians and other providers to get the care you need.

I follow an Integrated Care Model because we believe in the 8 dimensions of wellness  developed by SAMHSA.

Don't have a substance use or mental health problem but need some counseling services? Give Serenity In Solutions a call! We believe in the 'No Wrong Door' model. If I can't help, we will work together to find a counselor that meets your needs!
